We are the 4th generation fragrance house based in Kannauj, the Perfume Capital of India. Our family’s journey in perfumery began in 1925, when the late Lala Banwari Lal Mehrotra established the foundation of a tradition dedicated to crafting authentic natural attars and essential oils.
This legacy was carried forward by his son, the late Lala Jugal Kishore Mehrotra, who preserved and refined the ancient art of perfume distillation. The next generation, led by Shri Govind Kumar Mehrotra, owner of Puja Perfumery, expanded the business and introduced our products to customers across India and around the world.
Today, the fourth generation—Prabhat Mehrotra and Gaurav Mehrotra—continues this heritage with the same commitment to purity, quality, and craftsmanship. With over 125 years of combined family experience, we remain dedicated to preserving the timeless fragrance traditions of Kannauj.
Our attars and essential oils are handcrafted using the traditional Deg Bhapka distillation process, a centuries-old method that captures the natural essence of flowers, herbs, woods, and spices. This artisanal technique ensures rich, authentic, and long-lasting fragrances.

The Deg-Bhapka Distillation Process
- Fresh flowers, herbs, or bark are placed in copper vessels (degs).
- Steam rises and carries the aroma.
